To optimise its balance sheet capitalisation, the shipowner opted for alternative, non-bank, funding, to refinance maturing debt on a number of vessels.<\/p>\n<p>The finance structure includes investment in ballast water treatment systems. This equipment filters seaborne emissions of exotic aquatic organisms from vessels and prevents pollution of the marine environment.
