A warm welcome to Lorraine Harteveld who joined NESEC as Director Risk & Finance earlier this month.
“I’m really looking forward to my new challenge,” she says. “This role feels like a natural fit for me. The maritime industry is in my DNA. Growing up, my grandfather worked as a tanker Captain. I used to watch the ships sail on the coast of Curacao, where I was born. I never imagined that one day I would be responsible for financing them.”
In her new role, Lorraine will be responsible for a broad range of activities, including setting up a new ship financing fund that is fit for the future.
Having graduated in Business Economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Lorraine has worked in financial services for companies such as Rabobank, NIBC and DVB – where she was introduced to ship financing.
In her spare time, Lorainne enjoys Cross-Fit and exploring the world. She’s an adventurous traveller – on a recent trip to the Maldives she swam with tiger sharks. Lorraine also enjoys languages, speaking Spanish, Dutch, English and Greek – a language she learned as a result of her connection to the maritime world.
